Design Philosophy

I use modeling and rendering as a design tool to discover opportunities through exploration. 

My architectural philosophy is heavily influenced by persistent technologies outside of the industry. Architecture, Photography, and Videography are linked in my design triangle. My feeling is that one informs the other. This is the cornerstone of my design philosophy. As I am designing, I consider where the main architectural photo vantage points will ultimately be. Each of these views should be unique, dramatic, and well composed. Humans do not experience plans, elevations, or sections. Thus my designs are developed through a figurative and literal lens. By designing for what the camera will see I am designing for what a person will ultimately experience. I use 3D modeling and rendering as a design tool to discover opportunities through exploration.

The information-gap between architects and clients remains too wide. Video can help clients and the public better understand and appreciate the design decisions as well as the final product.

Today, renderings are extremely ubiquitous and consistently beautiful. From a client perspective, choosing one rendering over a competitors is an unenviable task. Here, video has the ability to help a client better understand the design process rather than just seeing the final product. By walking the client through the long design process the decisions are better understood and the client may realize why one rationale is superior to another.
